Whilst we have made good progress, for a number of reasons, Ofsted being one of them, Beachborough have fallen behind.

Despite the help offered by Geoff Lambrechts, from the Buckinghamshire ICT support team, liaising between the two schools, and giving advice as to the appropriate hardware and software that was needed for the two schools to communicate effectively, progress had definitely slowed.

The videoconferencing part of the project was therefore put on hold, until both schools had the relevant technology. The project is ongoing, much has been learned and much work still needs to be done. Indeed, the surface has only been scratched. As the new technologies arrive in our schools the sharing of further research projects on each village can take place.

However, much valuable work has been completed at Grendon Underwood School, and although the web site is in its early days, the photographs and interviews with Annie George can be viewed at: www.grendonunderwood.bucks.sch.uk

Please do have look at this site, as you may well find it useful for some of the work that you are currently doing in your own school, and let us know what you think!

There is no doubt that projects such as this can be of tremendous value to the whole school community. They do involve a lot of work, but the experiences gained are invaluable. Already, the children at Grendon Underwood have built up a wonderful resource not just for themselves, but also for future generations of pupils in our school, and the wider community as a whole. They value the trust invested in them by the local community as: "The keepers of the Keys to the Kingdom"
