Curriculum Online and eLearning Credits (eLCs)

Here is a short piece from the Curriculum Online web site that gives a description of this new initiative.

'What you need to know about eLearning Credits

• " eLCs are a new form of funding for maintained primary and secondary schools, non maintained special schools and pupil referral units in England
  
• " eLCs are being distributed via the Standards Fund Grant 618 and totals £50 million for the academic year 2002-2003
  
• " eLCs can only be used for buying Curriculum Online certified digital learning resources published on this site
  
• " Only Curriculum Online registered Retailers can accept eLCs'

The grant was distributed as money into school budgets this year but in the future we will probably see an electronic online system for purchasing digital learning resources. See the Curriculum Online web site for further information www.curriculumonline.gov.uk
